Following the tightening of measures against the spread of COVID-19, the Minister of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic Branislav Gröhling issued a decision on 4 January 2021 in connection with the entry of pupils into schools and the deadlines decisive for the school year.

He decided thatthe external part of the school-leaving examination in the school year 2020/2021 WILL NOT take place.

The written form of the internal part of the Maturita examination will take place starting April 13, 2021; kthe specific date of the written form of the internal part of the Maturita examination shall be determined by the Ministry of Education, Science, Research and Sport of the Slovak Republic by 31 March 2021. The oral form of the internal part of the Maturita examination shall take place starting May31, 2021; the specific date of the oral form of the internal part of the school-leaving examination shall be determined by the district authorities in the seat of the region for secondary schools within their competence so that the school-leaving examination takes place within one week and, if necessary, for a maximum of two weeks.

THEORETICAL PART OF PRACTICAL STUDIES The theoretical part of the professional component consists of 25 topics. The topics will be in accordance with the target requirements for a graduate of the field of study 8259 6 animated creation, 8296 6 graphic design, 8297 6 photographic and 8298 6 clothing design in the field of vocational education. The theoretical part of the professional component of the Maturita examination will take place starting 31 May 2021; ; In this regard, it is necessary to verify the level of acquisition of: a) knowledge of materials, technological processes, tools and equipment needed in this field b) knowledge of technical terminology at the required level and theoretical knowledge in this field of study c) ability to perform art analysis at the required level d) the use of professional theoretical knowledge in practical artistic performance e) the ability to adequately justify their professional opinions f) the ability to work with professional material and apply the acquired theoretical knowledge in practice

In the practical part of the professional component, students choose a topic in the field from which they will graduate. The elaboration of topics must focus on humanity, human belonging and understanding. The practical part should verify the level of acquisition, application of acquired professional and theoretical knowledge in solving practical and professional topics and determine the student’s readiness to use them in activities for which the performance was prepared: a) master and use professional skills and knowledge to present their own, advanced and simultaneous cultured artistic expression, or the creation of one’s own work of art b) to demonstrate the acquired skills in the inventive rendering of artistic performance for professional practice c) to observe the principles of occupational safety, principles of environmental protection and ecological principles
